Be Transformed

Since rededicating my life back to Christ in 2018 my life has tremendously changed. I honestly believe that I underwent an internal, spiritual, and mental transformation.

Internally, my heart was softened and more open to receiving God. I wanted to learn more about this man named Jesus who died on the cross for me. I wanted more! My heart desired to know so much about who I am in Christ.

Spiritually, I started praying more and opened my Bible for the first time in years. It felt great! Lastly, my mind was renewed, and the way that I viewed myself and God’s hand in my life significantly transformed. I began to realize who I actually was in Christ and no longer sought man for validation.

I’m sure I underwent many more transformations, but those are the main three that stood out to me.

During those years that I was drawing near to God, I suffered greatly with the enemy trying to attack me. He tried to attack my mind with thoughts of negativity, and attack my values. But I remained strong in the Lord because I knew my salvation was more important than worldly things.

So, maybe you were once like me and are wondering how to begin your transformation process.

Well, here are some of the things I’ve learned about transformation:

  • Acknowledge - Acknowledge where you are in this season and take steps on how to get to where you want to be. You must be honest with yourself and really understand where you are, how you got there, and why you need to do to get out of this place you’re in. The first step to change is being honest about what’s in front of you.

  • Accept - After you’ve acknowledged that you are struggling to figure life out alone, the next step is to accept the harsh reality that you can’t do this alone! I would encourage you to accept the help of God and invite Him in, and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior!

  • Affirm - After accepting God into your life and allowing him full control over your life, you must affirm your identity in Christ. Be confident, bold, and unashamed of who you are in Christ!

  • Act - Lastly, take action! In order to experience your transformation, you must walk in your transformation. Your transformation not only requires the help of God, but it also requires you to do some of the work as well.

Keep in mind that transformation looks different to everyone! My process, my journey, and my experience are all specific for me. Everyone’s journey is different but it’s worth it in the end.

Meditate: Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! - 2 Corinthians 5:17
